As it stands today there are widespread misconceptions and varying media depictions of asylum seekers. The debate over asylum seekers is so important because people’s lives and well-being are at stake, and it is a terrifying thought that individuals who have fled torture and inhumanity could be demonised by the press or misunderstand by the public at large.
