A ground-breaking study has confirmed that the 380 million Christians in Africa do know when Christmas is.

The research conducted mainly within the 30 Christian-majority countries in Africa, found that hundreds of millions of lifelong Christians do know the date of their faith’s main celebration.

When asked the question “What day do you celebrate the man whose teachings form a major part in the way you live your life?”, 97% accurately said “25th December”.

Responses among the 3% included “of course I know”, “are you kidding me?” and “what makes you think I need to be asked this question?”

In a bid to spread the message of their findings, the researchers have gathered together a group of South African, Congolese and Angolan music artists to release a charity single this weekend “Do they know we’re Christians?”

Critics expect it to finish second in the charts.
