In recent months, a living wage campaign has begun in earnest at the University of Sheffield. Created from a merger of two contemporaneous campaigns started by students in the recent Occupation and by Sheffield Labour Students, the campaign hopes to secure a living wage for all staff at the university and the Union. It has received support from a range of political groupings, local politicians such as David Blunkett MP and trade unions such as UNISON and Unite.
